THE HERITAGE FARM STORY

When the federal government dammed the Gauley River to help control the flooding that impacted the Kanawha, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers, the result was beautiful Summersville Lake.  The lake covered what had been two communities, Gad and Sparks, which is where our family farm was located.  Heritage Farm is what remains of the Brown family farm, part of our legacy for over 100 years.

The land is important to us--part of the heritage of the proud, hard-working people who created families and communities here.  It has been home to many of our childhood memories and life milestones, and now we invite you to create your own memories here at Heritage Farm.
